Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Pune in India

After successful launching of 4G services in Kolkata and Bengaluru Airtel has announced the launch of its 4G-LTE services in Pune of Maharashtra state.

Airtel has also reduced the price of the LTE CPE and dongles, the Indoor CPE with Wi-Fi and the 4G Multi Mode Dongle, that are now available for Rs. 4999 each.

Airtel has also announced the availability and free trial offer of Airtel Broadband TV and Games On-Demand for their 4G LTE customers. They have introduced cash back offers for post-paid customers. Airtel 4G services would be available soon for prepaid customers in Pune .

The 4G services theoretically provide upto 20 Mbps upload and 40 Mbps download speeds.

While commenting, K Srinivas, president – consumer business, Bharti Airtel said, “Today, we are excited to launch Maharashtra’s first 4G experience for Airtel customers in Pune. The response received by Airtel 4G services in Kolkata and Bengaluru has been compelling – thus reinforcing our long term focus on delivering technologies to fulfil the needs of India’s rapidly growing data evolution story.”

Airtel also announced the launch of three offerings on top of 4G data – Airtel Broadband TV, Games On-Demand and Airtel Movies. Airtel Broadband TV service lets customers view 76 channels and on-demand videos across various genres including movies, music, entertainment and news. The price applicable for this pack is Rs.150 and Rs. 49 for monthly and weekly subscribers respectively.

Airtel also announced the Games On-Demand, offers games from popular publishers including EA, Ubisoft, Square-Enix, PopCap, Alawar and more starting at Rs. 5 per day for 30 games and Rs. 199 pack offers over 350 games per month. Airtel 4G customers can enjoy 7 days of free games as an introductory trial offer. Airtel plans to roll out their 4G LTE services in remaining circles soon.

Bharti Airtel Received Telecom Centre of Excellence (TCOE) Award 2011

The award Telecom Centre of Excellence (TCOE) is given to Bharti Airtel for delivery of network services with customer focus for the year 2011. Bharti Airtel received this award from Sachin Pilot and Milind Deora – Ministers of State, Communications and Information Technology in a glittering ceremony at New Delhi India.

Today Airtel announced this on the official Airtel page.

This award is based on Network Coverage, Network Quality of service KPIs, Product Innovation and Network Bench-marking processes based on network parameters and customer voice. Airtel offers 2G services in 23 circles and 3G services in 13 circles across India.

3G Unlimited High Speed USB Data Card Plan Launched By Airtel In Rajasthan


Airtel has announced a new 3G plan that is Airtel Super 950 in Rajasthan in India. The Airtel Super 950 plan is a 3G Unlimited High Speed USB Card Plan.

The price of the 3G plan is Rs. 950.00 per month and would offers 7.2 MBPS for the first 6 GB data, after that speed would be controlled to 20 kbps and remain unlimited for the rest of the month.

Currently Airtel 3G is available across 42 towns in Rajasthan that is really a good thing. The availability of 3G service in Rajasthan includes Jaipur, Chomu, Bharatpur, Dausa, Pratapgarh, Chittorgorh and many places.

According to Airtel, the plan (Airtel Super 950 ) is available for limited time in the Double Dhamaka offer, So make hurry for enjoying high-speed 3G plan other wise, as the time period ends the high-speed data will be 2.5 GB plan.

Apple iPhone 4S Terrif Plans For Airtel

Long awaited Apple iPhone 4s now launched in India via Airtel and Aircel. Airtel has announced the pricing for both the pre-paid and the post-paid plans for the Apple iPhone 4S. Airtel started pre-order for the iPhone 4S last week and it is expected to be available from 25th November. The 16GB version of iPhone comes at Rs.44,500.00 and the 32GB is available for Rs.50,900.00. These plans offer free Local Minutes, Local and National SMS and 3G Data. Aircel has already declared their post-paid plans for the Apple iPhone 4S earlier this week.

The above mentioned plans are monthly and for the period of 24months (2 years). After the monthly consumption in the offered prepaid plan is over, you would be charged at 50p for all Local & STD calls, Rs. 1 for SMS (Local/ National) and applicable data tariff as per your subscribed pack. In case you have not subscribed any data pack, standard browsing charges of 3p / 30 kb is applicable. If 3G data services has not launched in certain circle 2G data up to 2.5GB (2G data) for offers Rs. 600.00-1000.00 and 5GB (2G Data) for all other offers would be offered till the date of launch of 3G data services.

If you select prepaid plans, you need to recharge for a particular amount (Rs 600.00 for example) and the discount amount (Rs. 300.00) would be credited back to your main account balance within 3 to 4 days which could be used for voice, SMS or data.

In case of postpaid plans your discount will reflect in the bill at the end of your monthly bill cycle. Data usage will have a bill shield of max Rs. 3000.00/ excluding rental in postpaid plans post that you can browse at 20 kbps speed for free. You may also switch between the higher or lower range of postpaid or prepaid plans, over the period of 24 months (2 years).

The Airtel launch was held at an upscale restaurant while Aircel decided to keep it real by holding the event at their South Extension market retail outlet. The launch events included handing over the handsets to the first pre-order customers.
